Hallucinogenic Rock ruled 1960's way of life to a disgusting limit. To where most Rock music today ostensibly contains a component of Psychedelia. Here is a rundown of my own Top 10 most loved Neo-Psychedelic groups of the 1980's: 10. THE DUKES OF STRATOSPHEAR: A great many people know the individuals from this band under the moniker XTC. XTC needed to deliver two or three records to give proper respect to Psychedelia, however it wouldn't jive with their electro disco grooves. Signal The Dukes of Stratosphear. THE DREAM SYNDICATE One more Paisley Underground band and drove by Steve Winn, the Syndicate was a 80's variant of The Velvet Underground. Noisy, crude guitars on top of smooth bass and reverbed drums, Steve Winn shook out with his sock out, meeting moment achievement in L.A. THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN Siblings Jim and William Reid began this guitar based commotion named Shoegaze in 1983. Take The Velvet Underground, add droney contorted guitars like none other, and fierce stage shows, and you have TJAMC. Groups like The Brian Jonestown Massacre didn't have anything on these folks.
